Unfortunately, no. Sad

Quote:the Great Migration of nations?
The Confusedhock: WHAT??? Confusedhock: Was there ever such an event? Nations, no less? I thought they did not exist until napoleon invented the concept... Anyway, I doubt there was even a 'Great Migration' (sounds too much like birds migrating or a horde of folks boarding their waggons in search of new lands)..'

It's quite possible he may be referring to the Cimbri / Teutone wanderings in the first century bc. Over 600,000 left the Jutland area and collected others ( Amburone , Ambrone etc ) along the way. So yes they did load up the wagons and set off. Yes there are many symbols for the Germani , Irminsul was thought to be one as was the eagle and / or raven. Wolves played a part as well. These people in particular had a great respect for nature, women and children. You could read more here;

May be English language does not have the analogue of what is called "die volker wanderung"in German or "??????? ??????????? ???????" in German . I meant the migrations of Germanic tribes to Roman territory in Late antiquity and early middle ages, especially in the 4-th-6th centuries.

The migration Era.

Was there one?
This was more regional than general for the Roman controlled areas.
That they had a great impact on these regions is a fact, otherwise it wasn't written down in History.
You can compare it to modern day refugees who have a very big impact to country they flee to.
Place and time are the 2 main factors to bare in mind.

If during this period Banners (Vexillia) were used.
I think so because we still use them in the form of national flags, this custom never died.
But how they looked , already going to the next question, and to which "Tribe"/Army unit they belonged, is still in my opinion an open question which has the probability of never being answered.
The so called Gray area
