#1
How competent and adequate was Polybius in his descriptions of naval battles? What do the participants of the forum think on this probleme?

Do you mention one special battle or just in general?

You just have to click on Profile and then again the point profile. There you can change and create signature, avatar and other parts. Moderators will tell you soon, that you have to put your real name in your signature. It´s a forum- rule.

Back to Polybios: He is historian, but was also in Greece Strategos and Hipparchos. So he had military experience and knew some wars and battles. But he wrote a universal history, most things he tells, are only known from other authors and others sources. So it could be wrong, what he tells (like always with ancient historiants) but he could imagine and decide what is likely and military wise and possible and what not. But on such details you allways have to be a bit sceptic.
