VEXILLVM Award Nominations
#1
Commillitones, it's once again time for deciding on candidates for the VEXILLVM award:

"Awarded to the best overall contributor to research and reconstruction"

Who contributes a lot of references in support of information posted, who constantly looks up obscure information to help answer posted questions? Who consistently produces or researches the production of ancient objects?

Past awardees are Aitor Iriarte, Matt Lukes, Vortigern Studies (Robert Vermaat), Mike Bishop, Dan Peterson, Matthew Amt, Kate Gilliver, Peroni )Ade Wink), Graham Sumner, NS Ross Cowan. There are lots of fine candidates- so let us know who you think deserves the flag this time. If a person has already been nominated, please consider someone else rather than repeating- there's a vote afterwards so you won't be 'diluting' your canditdate's chances by suggesting someone else

Nominations will be accepted until Sunday, 14. December and voting will commence immediately after, ending on 21. December with the investment on 22. December. Big Grin

I would like to nominate Martin Moser for the research and reconstruction of leatherwork and footwear. Always backed up by reference material and sources.

Alex Kyrychenko -- virtually every post contains a reference to a source, many of which are not available in English -- along with a scanned diagram or two. Posts on gladii have been particularly useful.

Cesar Pocinya (Lucius) - seemingly always tackling a new challenging project and sharing it all with us (the horse gear and the belt parts are just two recent examples).

Gaius Calvus. He speaks authoritatively, and with obviously considerable research backing his statements.
