Tib(TIB???) has gone philosophical?
#1
I'm feeling a bit worried about Tib...this sudden tendency to quote Marcus Aurelius...
Well it's not quite like his usual...um...brash, brazen self if you know what I mean.
So what's all this about Tib-is this something to do with all those missing posts? Can't let go of it?
I thought perhaps a few more philosophical musings of Marcus Aurelius might help put things a little into perspective...

"When techies are inhuman, take care not to feel towards them as they do towards other humans."

"You may break your heart but techies will go on as before."

"Techies exist for each other. Then improve them or put up with them."

"Leave a techy's wrongdoing where it lies."

"It is not the deeds of these techies-which are the concern of their own directing reason-that are the source of our annoyance, but the color we ourselves put upon them."

"Letting go all else, hold to the following truths. Remember that man lives only in the present, in this fleeting instant; all the rest of his posts are either past or gone or not yet revealed"

Hope this helps a bit (and apologies to M.A.)
I noticed that one, too.. Worrying, to say the least.
maybe we should all pull together for Tib and put this under all our posts:

- Let it be known, that Tib has 1248 posts to date, but because the techies at Ezboard are incompetent, they no longer show up.

Cheers,
Personally, I sympathize completely with Tib, but I think it was cyber-gremlins who were responsible. All this internet stuff still seems a bit akin to black magic to me.

Speaking of which, Jackie, in case you didn't get them (due to them vanishing forever in cyberspace) I sent you a couple of emails. I only mention it here because in the past I have had a few emails I sent sucked into some cyberspace black hole never to be seen by human eyes again.

Hey, maybe that's what happened to the record of Tib's posts!!!
Sounds like a good candidate for Desiderata, which for those too young to remember, was the 'Love means never having to say you're sorry' poster child of the '70s. National Lampoon did a tremendous spoof:
"Deteriorata" - National Lampoon

You are a fluke of the universe. You have no right to be here.

Go placidly amid the noise and waste,
And remember what comfort there may be in owning a piece thereof.

Avoid quiet and passive persons, unless you are in need of sleep.
Rotate your tires.

Speak glowingly of those greater than yourself,
And heed well their advice, even though they be turkeys.
Know what to kiss, and _when_.

Consider that two wrongs never make a right, but that three do.

Wherever possible, put people on hold.

Be comforted that in the face of all aridity and disillusionment,
and despite the changing fortunes of time,
There is always a big future in computer maintenance.

Remember The Pueblo.
Strive at all times to bend, fold, spindle, and mutilate.
Know yourself. If you need help, call the FBI.

Exercise caution in your daily affairs,
Especially with those persons closest to you -
That lemon on your left, for instance.

Be assured that a walk through the ocean of most souls
Would scarcely get your feet wet.

Fall not in love therefore. It will stick to your face.
Gracefully surrender the things of youth: birds,
Clean air, tuna, Taiwan.
And let not the sands of time get in your lunch.

Hire people with hooks.
For a good time, call 606-4311. Ask for Candy.

Take heart in the deepening gloom
That your dog is finally getting enough cheese.

And reflect that whatever fortune may be your lot,
It could only be worse in Milwaukee.

You are a fluke of the universe.
You have no right to be here.
And whether you can hear it or not,
The universe is laughing behind your back.

Therefore, make peace with your god,
Whatever you perceive him to be - hairy thunderer, or cosmic muffin.

With all its hopes, dreams, promises, and urban renewal,
The world continues to deteriorate.

Give up!
Well, it must be said that all fiery blooded warriors must sit back and ponder life at some point.

But never fear! I have enough piss n' vinnegar to last another 10 years or so. Well, at least enough to keep me going until some radiant young lady tames this savage beast.
Thanks for all the consideration and kind words....
