Late Roman Helmets in Carnuntum\'s Waffenmagazin?
#1
When browsing through von Groller's publication of the finds from the "Waffenmagazin" in Carnuntum (Groller, M. von 1901: 'Römische Waffen', Der Römische Limes in Österreich 2, 85-132) I noted that he describes (and depicts) a substantial number of simple, roughly hemispherical iron helmet half bowl fragments which had a series of holes punched through their lower rim.

To me these look very much like Intercisa type helmets. I know that Ubl published an Intercisa type neck guard from Carnuntum but he does not mention these bowls. I also remember reading that the finds from the Waffenmagazin had been lost.

Is anybody aware of a publication of the finds from the Waffenmagazin more recent than von Groller's which would potentially contain additional information on these helmets?
