That's actually quite old news; I think it was already around six, seven months ago.

I guess they're drumming up interest for the December issue of National Geographic.

(But why do they use wee pyramids to represent Herod's palaces?!)

If I may quote myself:

Eighteen months, as it turns out: here is an overview of links from back then; article is in Dutch, but you will find what you need.

I was afraid of that.

Did a search of several threads but found nothing like this and so posted.

My apologies.

No need for apologies. I, for one, wouldn't have noticed the National Geographic feature. So ... thanks!

The identification of the site as being Herod's tomb is not new, but finds of wall paintings in a style otherwise unknown in the Levant in one of several burial chambers excavated is.
Ruben

He had with him the selfsame rifle you see with him now, all mounted in german silver and the name that he\'d give it set with silver wire under the checkpiece in latin: Et In Arcadia Ego. Common enough for a man to name his gun. His is the first and only ever I seen with an inscription from the classics. - Cormac McCarthy, Blood Meridian
