Hi there!
This is our last recreation of an iberian oval shield of the I cent. b. C. inspired in archaeological edetanian evidences from Sant Miquel de LlÃria (Valencia).
It has been made with a base of linden tree wood lamina, calf leather, iron (umbo and nails), linen and a natural adhesive substance obtained from animals. In fact Polibius comments the roman used adhesive from ox despoliations.
It's 119 cm. height x 61 cm. width and 5 kg of weight.
It's an excellent defensive weapon, truly solid and resistant.
