Roman Military Architecture
#1
I am hoping that some kind soul out there may be able to help me find a seller of the following book:

Gregory, S., Roman Military Architecture on the Eastern Frontier, 3 volumes (Amsterdam, 1996)

I've tried to search for it on Amazon and even Google in general but cannot find any sellers. I know it is the basis for many of the illustrations in David Kennedy's useful handbook on Roman army in Jordan. I'm slowly working my way through adding to my database of sieges, battles and fortifications in late antiquity and this would be a very useful addition. So if anyone has any ideas as to where I could get a copy please let me know.

Thanks in advance

Stephen

Might be worth contacting the publisher?

(I don't have a copy, but I can vouch for the author -- I trailed around Israel with her for a month in 1985.)

I found this catalogue:

[url:zb9mjhes]http://www.tte.nl/hakkert/acta/acta.classica.29.doc[/url]

GREGORY, S. Roman military architecture on the Eastern Frontier.
Vol. 1-3. (complete set). Amsterdam 1997. 1600 pag. Many Ill. Quarto. 322.-
— Vol. 1. 80.-
— Vol. 3. Maps, Plates, Illustr. and Drawings of the sites with the captions. 90.-

At 322 Euros it does not exactly appear to be a bargain!

I knew I could count on this board. Thank you for the replies, especially the catalogue link Jens. I will try to follow it up later this week. I agree 322 euros is expensive but this is the only price I have seen for the book. If anyone comes across a better price, please let me know. Unfortunately I have not come across any information on the publisher to be able to approach them directly.
So far as I know, it is the definitive work for fortifications in the area, although some new work has naturally been done on some of the sites since its publication. David Kennedy speaks highly of the author and I have read several other works she has written or contributed to and the reviews have been consistently done.

Cheers,
Stephen

Sorry about that - I hadn't realised it was a hyperlink. My screen is on the blink and only shows black and white sometimes.

Thanks,
