Fed Up :o(

Well, our summer has sucked. It's been the worst summer I can remember and just found out we have another two shows cancelled.

The school holidays were spent mostly indoors instead of in the parks, having BBQs etc. My garden is slowly becoming a swamp and I have to stick to the path for fear of alligators. My arms ache from constantly removing rust from weapons and armour. My tent has collected mud from all over England....

Has the weather been rubbish over mainland Europe too or just here?

*grumpy*

I would love to say that over here, it's raining cats & dogs, if that would make you feel less miserable. But in fact, I am having the easiest summer in ages.

It's been just as bad in my part of Canada too. But when the polar ice caps start melting, where do you think the water is going to go lol. Our summer was mostly cloudy with a ton of rain...at least every other day!

Well, I'm happy to say that our summer was not quite as hot as two years ago but just as sunny (relatively speaking).

However...

What we could use is some of your rain Libitina. Sunny days sitting under the lemon tree (sipping ice tea and reading about ancient Rome) are great, but we do need more water.

So, if you are looking for a land with a little more sun you are also welcome in SoCal.

Packing my bags as we speak  Don't think I've been to Burbank but liked CA in general. I'd probably just end up moaning about fires and quakes instead! Women aye. Big Grin

its been an easy summer here in Florida as well... last year was a drought and it seemed like the whole state was one big forest fire, but this year everything is lush and green and you'd never know we lacked for anything!
in fact ..... the fig trees, grape vines, and blue berry bushes are putting out TOO much fruit Confusedhock: as a result the bees and birds are taking over

when marching the weather was nice. Only some rain in one of the mornings (before getting up) After I got back the weather got worser, and was most worse when we were setting up the tents of the Roman festival in Nijmegen. Last week was nice, but cold in the morning. Now it's getting worse. (and I have to be outsite in kit whole weekend long, again)

Cheer up Kat. I have been managing to dodge between the showers up here in God's country( Northumberland) with my metal detector. I've managed to find a Denarius of Trajan a Dupondius of Marcus Aurelius and a Medieval silver finger Which I have declared treasure trove!! I know its been sad for all my grandchildren with this rain, however now that all the kids are going back to school I think that the Wife and I should book a trip and run off to the Med.' it should be real quiet over there now. PS I forgot to mention I also found a lead Saxon Spindle Whorl.

I'm from the North.

I like rain.

Stop whingeing.

You'd be really complaining of there wasn't any rain at all.

It got up to a blistering 75F today! I actually had to change shirts! Even the dog won't get out of the shade. Poor thing.

And the damnable fog flowed back out to sea before the morning commute.. how it knows to do that I'll never know... I had to driev past San Dieog Staue U this morning and all the coeds walking to classes were dressed like they were headed off to the beaches ... traffic was bogging down.. out to be a law I say!

Adn wouldn't you know it.... the specialty dessert restaurant up the street posted its new desserts for September... bastards.. And the figs are starting to ripen and DROP! .. and wouldn't you know it : the persimmons are HUGE! Dammitall!

ON NO! It's almost 4 oclock!! Gotta fire up the grille.. AGAIN!!! argh!!!

Don't knock it. I went to an event in Bückeburg, it was way too hot to do anything. It was only possible to sit in the shade and drink.

cheers
