Do you have any more info on the findings of your study?
Was it found at Hofstade Zemst or Aalst?
Hi Jurgen,

It's Hofstade near Aalst. The gladius was found in 1946, published by De Laet in 1947 and then went into oblivion (except for a brief description in JRMES 7). It is kept in the municipal museum of Aalst (Oud-Hospitaal).
It was found in a pit that is considered to be a favissa of a nearby Gallo-Roman temple.

I published a small article on this topic in Vobov-info nr. 58. If you like, I can send you a copy (do you live in Belgium?).
Hi Hans,

Well yes, you are talking to a fellow countryman
Currently I am in the planning stage of reconstructing a gladius, hence my interest.

I would be very much obliged if you could send me a copy of your article. Please e-mail me at [email protected]

Greetings,
