Felix Vtere belt article
#1
Hi Folks,

I just came across this article: Galić, Miljenka and Ivan Radman-Livaja, "VTERE-FELIX - belt set from Varaždinske Toplice." Journal of the Zagreb Archaeological Museum, Vol.39 No.1 December 2006.
It is available here: [url:2j90o89m]http://hrcak.srce.hr/index.php?show=clanak&id_clanak_jezik=29147&lang=en[/url] in a pdf download in Croat and English with illustrations.

Amazing what you can find on the internet these days! Big Grin

Cheers,

Lucianus

Thanks for that. Illustracija 6 looks oddly familiar (don't tell Mike Bishop -- he'll only get angry).

And that's quite a spear the little guy in Illustracija 5 is holding! Confusedhock:

A laud from me !

Great, thanks! Laudes.

I typed Roman into the search box and there are other articles on the site, hidden amongst a lot of other results. Well worth trying.

Here's a sample:

Hang on, I'm turning green and my shirt's starting to split! Ivan's a good bloke and he's welcome to it. I probably even said 'yes' at some point.

Well spotted, Tarb! Gardun is (fyi) better known as the legionary fortress of Tilurium, camp of Legio VII Claudia (Julio-Claudian era).

Laus from me also for the link.

There are more interesting articles to find, e.g.:

Excellent -- I didn't know that there were finds (possibly) from the siege of Metulum. Thanks!

Hi Folks,

I glad this is a help! I'm planning to do up one of those belts, so it was a serendipitous find.

Duncan,

And that's quite a spear the little guy in Illustracija 5 is holding! Confusedhock:

Well if you've got it, flaunt it!

Theo,

Good luck with that and please show us pics when you're done. Your work is excellent!

Tarbicus,

Thanks for that, and laudes to you too. I hadn't had time to delve further into that site. Those links look very interesting.

Mike,

Cheers,

Lucianus
