They are very similar to a shoe from Zugmantel (2nd/3rd C.)

The proper term for these shoes are Carbatinae. They are made from a single piece of thick leather without an added out-sole.

I suppose its a Carbatinae, the one on the right in Julilla's post looks familiar.

I am sure I have seen a pattern in a book as I made a note a while back to look it up on the web.

That might be a Germanic design, actually.
Next step would be to decide what you want them for (time, circumstances and such). Also, if you PM me your email and I can send you some info - I guess it's patterns mostly you're after?
