Uniformly ununiform would have been the uniform of the day. :wink: There would have been a certain general appearance to the unit but most definitly not kitted out identical. All the shields would be matching for the legionaries, the auxillaries would be differant from the legionary schild. I believe if we were able to see or travel back and see actual Roman Legions In the Field , in Camp , on triumph Parade , off duty in towns and retired we would be very surprised I should think and probably say they were not authentic.
