Roman Art from the Louvre (in Oklahoma)
#1
'Roman Art from the Louvre' at the Oklahoma City Art Museum, June 19 - October 12, 2008. While I knew about this event for over a year, there is no reenactor or living history connection. The two museum directors and staff have not shown any interest in having a living history presence. They may, if attendence doesn't pick up. The museum is in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City, and two floors are dedicated to the exhibit. There is a nice catalog for $50. Mosaics, statuary, including the praetorian relief (or a copy), a naval diploma, jewelry, and no photos allowed .....
groups of 15 or more can get in for $10 each, individuals $12.
Should I try to set up a group visit? Who might be interested and when would be a good time?
I guess we could all dress Roman and freak out the staff...
(I may do that in July, just to keep from being bored, anyway.....)

If you are coming from out of town, I would be glad to be your guide, and you can sleep on my couch if you aren't allergic to cats.
