I am a new (female) recruit ... not a warrior, but interested in Roman history and particularly in the equine aspects of both civil and military life. I'm always seeking new material for a web site that I run on a native British breed of pony, and verifying (or exploding!!) the vague "pseudo references" one is so often given in horse information.
My perspectives are academic (I'm a published writer, and a Uni lecturer in computing) and practical (I was a harness maker and a farmer, and have been a horse user and/or rider/driver for 35 years).
I hope you don't have too many initiation ceremonies for newbies
