Newburn Country Park Roman Event
#1
I'm sometimes uncomfortable about posting things in the events thread. It seems like shameless advertising. Well this event was last weekend, so my conscious is clear, I'm not advertising anything.

It was a small event west of Newcastle, beside the River Tyne. But it was a really good weekend. Around 1,000 people came to see us, including the odd member of RAT. It was good to meet you in person. Local metal dectectorists brought their finds to show us, and the audience was friendly and very receptive. It was the best audience we've had this season. As sometimes happens, the crowd begin to interact with the displays making the legionaries raise their game and their levels of accuracy. Targets were hammered and arrows and bolts went that little bit further. I suspect photos will appear on the Comitatus website.

The fact that the weather was glorious added to the whole weekend. The park is a great local resource, and the staff were very helpful. I recommend it.
