Wooden Spoon

Looking for examples of 1st Cen. wooden spoons. Have seen the brass ones and ones made of horn. If anyone can help, I am all ears!

Is an example really neccessary? Some items are so basic they trancsend a particular culture.

So long as it is made from a wood that was available to the Romans, whether utilitarian or stylized, a hand carved spoon is going to look like a hand carved spoon. Unless you incorporate inapropriate symbols or lettering, almost anything you do could be ascribed to one of the constituent races or cultures that make up the Roman Empire.

Are you intending something nondescript or will it imbue something to give it a unique character?

Well, what I did with it was just some "swirly" lines that go down handle, and dots with circles around them on the bottom similar to dice dots. I used a modern sauce spoon, cut it down and re-shaped the bowl smaller. coated it in olive oil. looks good, used it today. no splinters! :lol:
