Turned Aspis Project in Progress

That would be great. Being a neanderthall when it comes to woodworking, I sliced up a shallow plastic bowl to make the scale model. I quickly realized that I did not need a whole shield, but simply an arch, so I abandoned the concept. I used wooden pegs to hold the slices together as well as glue by the way, because I could not clamp it together as nicely as you have done.

I spent the weekend scraping barnacles from my boat hull- a man has to have priorities. I will make one eventually, perhaps sooner if I make that 2010 trip. I would make a full sized shield like this if I had a pattern.

A Spartan, being asked a question, answered "No." And when the questioner said, "You lie," the Spartan said, "You see, then, that it is stupid of you to ask questions to which you already know the answer!"
