Looks good and may well be authentic, but gladiatorial? Who can say? We have only the two weapons (really short swords, not daggers) from Pompeii to compare them with. There's nothing to say that this dagger wasn't military or civilian. In truth, there may have been no real difference between daggers used in the amphitheater, military specimens and civilian daggers. Even decor wouldn't tell us much, since gladiatorial themes were common in civilian usage. About the only conclusive evidence would be a find in a gladiatrorial armory a la Pompeii, but I don't see that happening a second time. <p></p><i></i>
