Oldest "living history" parks
#1
I am writing a piece on Orientalis, a "living history" park near Nijmegen (well-known to all of you because of our fellow-RAT Jurjen). It was founded in 1911, and people really did a great job trying to reconstruct the ancient world - according to the standards of their age. I know that the Saalburg dates back to 1897, the Kerylos villa to 1902, and I remember having heard about a famous living history park in Britain that is also very old. Perhaps it was in York? Anyone who knows?
