Garlic butter on crusty bread is also fab!

What a coincidence! This is just what I am having now! Although, I did expand it a litle and with Edamer cheese, ham, a very very thin layer of tomato sauce with olives, and a sprinkle of thyme.

Priceless

*drool* Throw some over please Big Grin

I just had my last bite im afraid... I'll be sure to bring fresh ingredients and make you a batch at the next event!

 I am now holding you to that

Something you might want to try (from ibn Sayyar al-Warraq's famous cookbook): jaqaq

Yoghurt with salt, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, mint, tarragon, finely diced cucumber and a dash of olive oil. Make sure to leave it sitting for a few hours before serving it to allow the flavours to blend, and drain off excess liqwuid. It's kind of like a genteel version of moretum. Amazingly good with flatbread and meatballs.

And I'm limited to eating it Saturdays, damn teaching for a living!

It is - except it's from a tenth-century manuscript. 8)

Now all I need is evidence for pickled red cabbage and I can serve döner at medieval events

leave away the red cabbage and it's still döner. and your plan to medieval döner domination will succeed.

Ah Nutella.

I can't buy the stuff or I'd go through a jar in about 24 hours! If I ran out of bread I'd eat it off the spoon
