The Landesamt für Denkmalpflege Sachsen-Anhalt has introduced a new archaeological method, which is called "stratospheric archaeology", where pics of higher air layers made with special cameras / filters can identify certain chemicals in the areas above former settlements, thus giving information about industries and agriculture etc.
They have a new plane (archaeoflot
) and introduce the new results in the rubric': "find of the month".
