From Hilvarenbeek you could visit Museum Het Valkhof in Nijmegen. If you want a meet up, please let me know, and we could probably have a drink (and Jasper could maybe be there too). The Noordbrabants museum in Den Bosch has much interesting stuff from Kessel-lith (yeah, you stay in the area of the 'civitas batavorum' ).
I don't know if there is much to sea in the area of Baarland. Maybe you could spend a day in Leiden and visit the Rijksmuseum van Oudheden.
