Roman marriage excesses
#1
I once read an anecdote about a Roman man who married to a Roman woman. No big deal, of course, except that he had already been married 17 times, and the lady had already survived 19 mariages. People were making bets how long this marriage would last. After the first night, the man was found dead - killed by poison.

So far the story. The question is: who tells this splendid piece of gossip?
