Questions about the forging of a pugio and a balteus
But probably there was'nt an universal method of supension, not in swords not in pugiones.

I have seen that in the tombstone of Flavoleius Cordus is possible to see a kind of lace between the disc and the pugio's rings:

I remember in other tombstone, that the pungio hangs from a baldric. It's from a signifer, i will search for it...

I think you may be thinking of the paper by Janka Istenic about an Augustan period sword and scabbard found in or close to the river Ljublanica which were clearly associated with a similarly decorated belt plate and cross hanger found nearby.

That's interesting I normaly refer to them also as cross hangers.

I think Byron that it's from the point of view they go across the scabbard to hold the rings.
