I've just been cruising Amazon.com and found that Alfred Duggan's historical novels from the 50s and 60s are out in new editions from Phoenix Press. Apparently they've been around a while but I hadn't seen them. I recommend them highly. Most are set in the Hellenistic-Roman world, though a few are Medieval. Duggan was one of the wittiest writers of his generation. Now, if they'll just do the same for Henry Treece.
