I direct your attention to the following:

Is this a nutcracker as it purported to be, or is it in fact a Roman wire stripper. Now I know what your thinking: "But the holes are square?" That is true and puzzled me at first as well. However I will point out that there is no evidence that Ancient Roman electricians didn't use square wires.
