Well spotted, Iagoba, laus for you! Big Grin Where is this mosaic from?

Tony,
would you say that the barbs of this new one point inwards? :?

Tony,

I think that it would probably make more sense to place the barbs of the 'furca' pointing inwards. Are we still in time to make such change? :?:

Certainly having barbs on the inside would make better sense - especially when fishing. You can see this type of arrangement from Neolithic flint and antler hunting tools.

They can also be arranged in sets of three.

Thanks Tony and Adrian! Big Grin

To my mind, the 'ball' under the prongs on this new mosaic could point to a construction using independent prongs (like the third one on your drawing, Tony) and the ball could be some king of tying. :?

Anyway, I vote for sticking to the first one on your drawing, but barbs pointing inwards 8)

Will do Aitor Big Grin If I have time later I will ponder a thought on that ball one and I would agree as too the independent prongs.

I have finished the spear head with the barbs on the inside Big Grin I have also noted that the shafts on this is not that thick so have gauged on 3/4" wide.
So Aitor I hope it is what you are after Big Grin lol:

that's a very deadly looking piece of equipment. But I've to admit I like the shape.

Is that socket welded onto the spikes, or is it forged from one piece? It's a little hard to tell (which would be a compliment on the welding, if that's how it's made!)
