this are three different tipology of gladius type mainz. the scabbards are in brass silvered and all the frips are in Ivory (of raindeer).

A little criticism:

-The 3 gladii are 3 exemplars of the same tipology. The tipology are Gladius Mainz, and the "subtype" are: "scababrd decorated with opus interrasile".

-That subtype are almost always made in brass or another copper alloys over a white coloured metal plates (brass tinned, probably iron tinned too ?). You can add a very thin plate over the leather, but with the frame made of silver, there will be not contrast.

-The shape of the blades are very good, as the grips. In my opinion, wood were better for pommels and guards.

-The sword at the right of the picture have two decorated bands. That bands are always bordering the suspension bands, so you have to make two more and relocate the existing ones.

-The mouth pieces and chapes are of a very good execution. My congratulations.

thank you for your observations Lucius Alfenus,I like do the handle all in Ivory of raindeer and do the silvered (and goldered too)of the brass of the scabbards because mostly this gladius are for my group and we are pretorians so we like to have pretious swords,pugiones ecc.
