Here are a few of the 200 pictures my g/f and I took on our week long cruise in the western Caribbean. We sailed from Fort Lauderdale Florida, to Ocho Rios in Jamaica, then to Grand Kayman Islands, then to Tulum, Mexico and finally at an island in the Bahamas. The ship we were on (the Grand Princess) is about 950 feet long, 150 feet wide and displaces over 100,000 metric tons. It was also about 15 stories high.
The pics here are from Tulum, Mexico at a Mayan ruin found on the shore of the Caribbean Sea. The ruins were built around 500 AD, and were in fact at the time covered in stucco and a beeswax sealant, and painted turquoise blue, red and yellow. (Similar to roman statuary, not being left marble). This ruin, as well as 2 others in an exact row towards inland Mexico, also line up directly with the stars in Orion's belt.
There were also small windows in the main temple area that lined up perfectly with the sun during the Summer Soltice and Winter Equinox. Pretty cool stuff.
Iguanas also covered every inch of the place...lol.
