Any other examples of neck guards having this feature at the join with the bowl? :wink:

The full details given by the vendor:
Quote:Circa 50 100 AD,period of the Civil war or Flavian.It was excavated with the left cheek guard broken just below the hinges.The neck and cheek guards are piped and decorated with bronze.There is bronze handle on the neck guard.It haven't been cleaned with abrasive or chemicals ,so expertise of authenticity can be made. .Roman soldiers grave excavated in the Mainz.35 cm long with the neck guard,the widest part is 22 cm at the neck guard.15 cm tall with the bronze pick.

Plus they have had the audacity to use a third century dolphin handle on a *supposed* flavian helmet!! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

Here's what I have sent the seller...

I shall be sending a copy of my message to ebay. Frankly I am appalled at the amount of fake antiquities being sold as original items on ebay.
