Another marching pack.
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i311/ ... _furca.jpg
Bags from LaWren's Nest.
Ceramic canteen from Venetian Cat.
Net bag and situla from Soul of the Warrior.
Dolabra and patera from Armamentaria.
Coptic pendants from Ebay (don't ask, I like 'em, I think they look period).
Furca itself is dowel, but I want to make a new one. Held together by real sinew and an iron nail.

I like your collection of "chick magnets"... I keep a circle bag of hair pins and fibula in my loculus... since nylons and hershey bars are right out!

Looks good! I've got to rework my pack too. I think I'll hang a nice salami off it as well. I have one of Julia's canteens, the cylindrical type. It keeps the water so much cooler than the tin one. What do you keep in the metal one? Oil?

TARBICvS, thanks for posting the pic of your marching pack. I got almost everything shown in your picture for Christmas and was just trying to figure out the best way to do my furca, now i know!
I just want to note, that as a new reenactor, who's starting a new group, i'm amazed at how much i've learned since joining RAT.

Nice kit Tarb, so when are you going to visit the XIIIIth?
I was trying to purchase 'chickmagnets' for my kit, but Peronis seemed to think it was a strange idea......but I like the idea!!
Visne partem mei capere? Comminus agamus! * Me semper rogo, Quid faceret Iulius Caesar? * Confidence is a good thing! Overconfidence is too much of a good thing.

I was referring to having some trinkets to attract the camp followers, but
I get your drift.
Mind you I would prefer to buy the Gaulic whench with some trinkets rather than give her my arm band... (when I finally get a decent one, that is)

I think many of the Roman chickmagnets are a based on a less subtle approach....... http://www.piney.com/Phallwinged.gif !
Yes I have one along those lines

Tarbicus,
You could always think of visiting us at the Lunt on 1st March. Follow the link under my signature (which I am sure you are already familiar with) and speak nicely to the events secretary). That way we would get to see you and you would get to see my latest theatrical production.
