One of the unpleasant side-effects of the copyright laws is that translations that are made available online, are usually quite old. So it's quite special to find a quite recent translation of Tacitus: go here. The name of the translator is not mentioned, but the Histories are done by Wellesley.

Somehow, I have a feeling that the webmaster has broken the law; but if you copy the text for personal use, I suppose you're allowed to download the files.

You're right, Jona -- the text of The Histories is Wellesley's Penguin Classics version of 1964.
But the text of The Annals is the Church & Brodribb version from the 1870s. And the Agricola seems to be Harold Mattingly's Penguin Classics text of 1948. All fairly sound translations, as far as I'm aware.
