I often see boar tusks in Roman museums, often drilled for suspension. I am familiar with mounting two of them end to end like a crescent moon, for decorating horse tack I believe.
And I think I can place their use in other periods.
But I would like to understand their use in a Roman context. How, why and when tusks were worn by Romans?
Thanks in advance.
