greaves for the beginning of 2nd AD

I like these greaves very much. They are made after a finding of 2./3. C AD. Would they be o.k. for the beginning of the 2. C AD too?

Ahh yes, those are ones Caballo pointed out to me!
I can't recall, but they are a rather cross of types, the full shin to top of knee, and also the shorter version. I would use them! Big Grin

What about putting hair-on sheepskin as a liner behind greaves? Obviously they had that material, and it makes a fair pad, which would be nice if you got smacked in the greave: the shin might not feel it so much.

Definately! Rusty does for the centurion greaves, and I am in the process of lining my late greave from Peronis wit hsheepskin w/ wool attached! Big Grin
