Great Caesar\'s Ghost...uh, Head, I mean Head
#1
Has anyone heard or read about this latest discovery of a Caesar bust- I think in Italy? I caught a very small part of it on the local news today- apparently some archaeologist(s) believe it to be the most accurate depiction of the Great One. From the very quick picture I saw, it looked much like many other busts have, but I didn't get a great look. Don't know anything more because I only caught the the very end of the report. Haven't seen anything else nor have I found anything online.
Hallo Frank,

the new marble bust of Caesar has been found on the island of Pantelleria, in roman times called Cossyra. A German television station was just filming for an archaeological report about the excavations, when the bust was found coincidentally. As I'm new on the forum, I don't know how to post a photo directly - but You can find a good one in the following link:
Salve Frank and others,

the new found marble bust is in Hamburg at present in an exhibition called "Caesar ist in der Stadt" (Caesar is in the town) together with busts of Titus and Antonia Minor. All three busts had been found in the same location at Pantelleria. They were discovered in a filled up well and are considered to be world-wide as the best received antique busts.
