Thanks for the article. It was a little dissappointing. Cry I had hoped that I could at least find out if they were silvered copper alloy or made purely of silver.

I guess if I contact the museum they should know something. According to Curle, they are hammered silver sheet wrapped around bronze discs. According to Peter Connolly, he says that they are silver with gilting

When I have spoken to Brian Stobbs, he says that they are silvered copper alloy and that they were gilt to cover the brass part with gold.

Oh well Sad
