Looking at those illustrations reminds me when I was a kid and building model airplanes. When I was twelve I built an F-14 from a Top Gun model kit. It took me months and I was so proud or it, I hung it with fish-wire from my bedroom ceiling lamp ... until I accidentally BROKE it while playing with my brother's nunchucks. 
I think I actually cried (however my brother got a good laugh at my suffering).
