You can see how they were expecting the MiG-29 to have a lot of DNA from the MiG-23. Logical when all you have to work on are blurry photos and eye-witness descriptions.

Very interesting!

The wing design looks like a blatant influence from the F-18, and the length looks awfully short.. And the intakes are interestingly huge as well.

The other aircraft in the top painting looks like an A-5 Vigilante bomber or a TU-22 Backfire?

Looking at those illustrations reminds me when I was a kid and building model airplanes. When I was twelve I built an F-14 from a Top Gun model kit. It took me months and I was so proud or it, I hung it with fish-wire from my bedroom ceiling lamp ... until I accidentally BROKE it while playing with my brother's nunchucks. Cry I think I actually cried (however my brother got a good laugh at my suffering).

Sharon: I too saw many of my models suffering awfull acidents: today there is not of them that survived untouched.
