Roman Port near Pisa

Just read about a port in Pisa tha thas been uncovered, containing aprox 30 ships of various sizes, spanning about 1000 years of roman history.

A skeleton was found on one with his foot caught in a rope, reaching out ot a dog.........

Was a catastrophy

There was an exhibition of the finds in Unna, Germany, in 2001 (I think), with a catalog "Hafen der Wunder", which I couldn't find yet, though ...

There's more than a booklet. My parents brought me the exhibition catalog / guide, quite a volume called Le navi antiche di Pisa

Hi all,

for me the painting of the skeletons looks as if the sailor would have tried to rescue his dog by pulling him at the neck and then regrettably drunk together with his pet. Cry
