Hello I've always wanted a cross bow but not one of those expensive new composite ones. . If I wanted a roman one and don't have any talent where would I go to buy one.
I suspect the medieval cross bow if one was for sale could be Romaized. Next to the re-enactors field in town their is a archery range. This way I could do both in one afternoon.
Any thoughts or a link to a place one could buy such a thing.

I would advise against trying to Romanise a medieval crossbow unless you are an accomplished woodworker. The release mechanism is probably different (though the usual bone or antler 'nut' is the same), and the stock is entirely a different shape, propbably designed for a different grip (it's not long enough to rest on the shoulder and looks like it's designed to be gripped like a sword handle).
Obviously, the person you want to talk to on the details is Aitor Iriarte - I only vaguely recall that Roman crossbows are believed by some to have been of composite construction.
