cohors equitata
#1
Hi Folks,

... here is my latest: An infantryman of Cohors Primae Hispanorum Equitata at Alauna Fort (Maryport) in 123-139 AD.
It is a converted old stock-figure by the Italian manufacturer "Soldiers".

I like the detail of the snow on the boots....to bad re-enacting comes to an end with the passing of the summer months...
Visne partem mei capere? Comminus agamus! * Me semper rogo, Quid faceret Iulius Caesar? * Confidence is a good thing! Overconfidence is too much of a good thing.

Around here, it's hard to get people out during the summer months. Maybe the 38-40 C August temps have something to do with that? Guarantee your armor heats up fast standing out in that!

Yeah, we don't see that at all here, but would be interesting to do a proper camp/ fortress setup, in winter gear, living as a garrison for a week or 2....

Anyway, that is a great model Arminius!

What scale is the figure? Excellent paint work. More than excellent. Lifelike.

@ Demetrius:
The scale is 54mm.

Hi Andreas,

what an improvement!!! I like Your conversion very much. As far as I can see, did You replace the shorter gladius by a longer spatha and changed the lower end of the tunica directly under the mail cuirass. Did You also convert the face or did You make it only by better painting?
