In Spain, since five or so years ago started those things, but here are "medieval markets" so they don´t hide the intentions of selling you chocolate, pies and parfums. And learning history with the "X Vs Y" tournament. I had stop going to those things, after I became bored/embarrassed/confused/ berseked  after the "historic" displays....and to say, the knights of the video are better than any I have seen.
In our fencing club we have done a couple or so shows, the last one yesterday. I died after 45 seconds of fight Big Grin roll: ) for TWO minutes of fight.. We train how to kill the other, or if you cannot, we run. Fighting for more than a minute, well, it´s a time loss.
But it´s a way of paying your gambax and pauldrons...

Thanks Scithius.. Ahr ahr ahr ahr. Ah.... Ren Faire.... there's a small little Faire a mile from my house ..... it has all that's in that vid but its crammed into a tenth the space. Then there's the Faire a bit north of here.. famous for many things including: Medieval Klingons.... who do a VERY good job of it but... oh well.

If you've seen the long haired blonde man on the front of "Romance Novels", it's Fabio. I think he's either Austrian or German, but I wouldn't swear to that. Basically a hunky muscular body model kind of guy.

You do not know Fabio? (soft, romantic music starts playing)...Fabio. Romantic mastermind. Emotional alchemist. His image in print drives the ladies wild. His voice, in the form of song, imparts the wisdom of love to the men, that we may learn from a master....

OK, satire mode is now off  From what my lady friends say, he seems to be the ideal of masculinity condensed until it's nauseating.

BTW I wasn't joking about the songs. I used to have a delivery route downtown. The radio station got their hands on an album Fabio made, and played a clip from it. Something about tropical islands, deepening love, etc. I pulled over instantly and giggled helplessly; people looked at me like I was crazy. It was that funny Smile
