Roman maps

I want to make a map of the roman empire or of the gallica, or a part of the limes on leather. If Somebody have informations on this type of map can you give me these informations. Regards

As far as I know is one of the best sources for ancient maps the famous Tabula Peutingeriana. A 15th century copy of an ancient map. More information and a link to the full images could be found on Jona's website.

There is also Ptolemy, and editions of Strabo or Herodotus usually come with a sketch of their world-view. Ancient maps are a tricky subject because only one or two survives, though: some have argued that the emperors tried to get control of all the best maps and loaned them out sparingly for fear of revolt.

I have not checked this forum frequently since 2013, but I hope that these old posts have some value. I now have a blog on books, swords, and the curious things humans do with them.

One original map that survives in part from antiquity is a Greek one dated to around 500 BC showing Southern Italy.

I know it's not Roman but it's nonetheless the Western world's oldest map.
