Robert - I don't know if any of the Numerus Aelius helped form Comitatus - I think they are York-based so it is possible.
Certainly three members of Numerus Aelius that I know were founder members of Quinta Gallorum up in Newcastle as Alex Croom (from Arbeia) was in the unit.
Agreas - You push the saxons from your side of the Mares & we will push them from our side & with luck they will fall down the gap in the middle
Perhaps we will meet up at Archeon next year!
