The problem with Mycenae being conquered by a foreign enemy is that there is no change in culture. The people who lived in the area before the "catastrophe" are identical to those who lived in the area afterwards.

Not exactly invaders but nomadic people of the region, which gain the upper hand over the Canaan city state, some with conquest other with pacts and fusion.
