We learned something new....

Roughing up the sawn surface of the slats increases the strength of the glue up. We use a table saw to cut the slats and the cut surface of the wood is smooth. A few swipes with coarse sand paper does the trick.

That's my thought. Inspired by using roughed pegs and hide glue.

Knew that soaking the wood in order to bend it brings out the grain when it dries.
