Thanks for the post, that is a very interesting shape too! It appears that the shoulder guard of a Plumata, or at least this one, was more round than the rectangular shaped guards of a lorica Cuirass. I have seen a few re-creationists with an overall round shoulder guard on their Plumata, I wonder if this image is what they based it on? Not plumata or squamata this piece, but lamellar or 'locking scale'.
There's some reconstruction that have been made groups here in the UK. I beleive that Dan Shadrake from 'Britannia' has one(?) This is by no means new. It has been discussed for a few years on many different incarnations of RAT. I just can't seem to find the threads!
