Traveling to Greece
Nope. But they are close to each other. This is what I did:

Got up early in the AM and walked along the pedestrian way in front of the Herodion (around the botton of the Acropolis rock) to the entrance gate of the Acropolis site itself. We bought our tickets. 12 Euros for a multi-site ticket. The ticket taker took one pull-off tab. We saw the site. We left. We walked over to the Areios Pagos (free). We walked to the Ancient Agora site (one tab on the ticket). The Thiseo and the Stoa Museum are part of this. We walked to the Roman agora (one more tab - that's 3 of 6). We met friends, had lunch, putzed around in the Plaka, too. The next day we walked to the Kerameicos site and museum - one tab. We walked back to the bottom of the Acropolis to see the Sanctuary of Dionysos and the adjacent ruins - one tab. Just before we ran out of steam after the "Changing of the Guard", we strolled through the Temple of Olympian Zeus - the last tab on the ticket.

Google "Athens Maps". The athensguide.com map is really good at showing the pedestrian area around the Acropolis. Print it out (we took that one to Greece with us) and try not to drool over it.

Dan, there are only multi-site tickets AFAIK. If you only go to the Acropolis, it still costs 12E.

Ancient Mycenae is in the Peleponnese. There is a major highway from Athens to Corinth to Argos/Naflio. About 45 minutes south of Corinth is the turn-off to the village of Mykines and the site is through town a ways (there are signs). Is someone driving or are you taking a tour bus? It might be time to look on Amazon for a used Frommer's guide book to Greece. The prices might be wrong, but thay haven't really moved any of the sites (except for the Acropolis Museum). Frommer's, Fodors', and the Blue Guides are really pretty good at telling you what to expect.

Yes, bring a brimmed hat. The light in Greece is very bright. At least to my eyes. Also, you can get pretty sunburned awfully quick. Sunglasses are a must. You can't enjoy anything if you have a headache from squinting against the sunshine.

The ancient Greeks sometimes used olive oil against sun burn, but I always wonder how they managed to live without sunglasses!

I think that is not sufficient. I think many elder people were suffering from poor sight (also because their diet lacked carotene).

So i guess that would include my fedora I bought at Bass Pro Shop today. It makes me look like Indiana Jones.

I could always get one from my local library.

I can not judge your financial position, but if you can afford to buy a book, I would do that. Your enthusiasm is immense, and I think you will like to have a copy of your own in which you can write or leave notes. It really helps to prepare a trip if you can find back information.

I have an idea. For day trips when bus schedules don't work out, I could rent a car for that (or those) day(s).

Well, I wouldn't be this interested in a trip if I couldn't even afford a book.
