What is the generally accepted method to afix ones pugio to the Belt frogs? I currently have it held in place by a leather tie......Brass straps?
Thanks!

You see a lot suspended by split straps, slung low gunslinger style. But if you look through the Imagebase tombstones you can see they're usually very tight and level to the frogs. There's a bit of a debate about whether the rings went around the frogs, but most who have them tight to the frogs I think use thongs.

Ave,
We've chatted up this question a few times recently, you can use the search and find some examples but...
I feel Jim is right and you can really see this very clearly in each example below, the pugio is often attached directly to (or strapped very, very tightly) to the frogs, not dangling on a long piece of leather.
Examples for you:

My personal opinion (and be careful I've been wrong before!) is that there were o-rings that were bent open, slipped around the frog, and then tightened.
